9 Weeks to Sexy
Week 5 - Spirituality
This week we are exploring the Spiritual body.
Have you ever noticed that when you feel anxious, upset, tense, embarrassed, insecure, angry, or any other emotion that leaves you feeling tight and constricted....
...that you are not breathing?
This is one of those questions where you ask yourself:
Which came first, the shallow breathing or the contracted emotion?
When you anticipate a negative experience, worry or have fear that threatens your wellbeing, you will often find you go into protection mode.
Everything tightens up, including your diaphragm, which decreases your ability to breath deeply and slowly. This further exasperates the state of stress. Not to mention the internal state of stress that your body now responds to.
Oh... tiger in the room!!!
Except in this case the tiger is your perceived stress about a situation.
The message to the body is; time to shut down digestion, increase cortisol for immediate adrenaline (which impedes hormone function).
Not to mention over time affects your overall hormonal cascade. Which when balanced usually keeps you happy, healthy, vital and juicy.
And, by now you know that juicy IS sexy!
Hmmm... who knew I would be talking about JUICY and SEXY under the topic of Spiritual Self.
You see... Spiritual is Sexy and Sexy is Spiritual.
Say what?!
Your sexuality is sacred.
Each one of us is a sexual being.
Individual aspects within us may be sexy... however it is the cacophony of how it all comes together like a symphony of awesomeness that makes us sexy women.
So, I asked which came first, the shallow breath or contracted emotion (suppressed)? ‘
Well, either way, there are tools you can use to stop protecting yourself and to step into curiosity.
BREATH is the vehicle of our inner world.
The inner world is our connection to something beyond our flesh and bone.
It may be a religious thing to you or a very personal connection to something larger (some call it source, the universe, or sally (quirky look). Regardless what you believe or what you call it, your breath is the TOOL that brings you back to yourself.
When you take time to stop and breathe you can get ahead of the auto-pilot stress that controls your life.
You can stop...
and breathe in ... 2, 3, 4
hold... 2, 3, 4
and out... 2, 3, 4
pause.
Yes, it's that simple.
As simple as breathing.
The breathe not only helps to calm the mind, it is also a detox pathway.
ya..way cool.
The breathe can slow down your racing thoughts and allow you to bring your attention to the present moment. The present moment doesn't exist in the worry of what was or may be. It allows you to "fill" with life.
All potential exists in the breath.
If your self worth remains only at the physical level, then your evolution is only skin deep and you miss out on the appreciation that each cell has its own intelligence.
Open up the opportunity to take accountability for your wellbeing.
By realizing your potential and taking ownership of your perspective and health of the body, you can fuel your awareness with intention to ignite the willpower.
The willpower that caused you to say YES to this program! By using your breath you can bring awareness into the realm of experience.
Breath is the vehicle by which this awareness is transferred from the unconscious to the conscious; from the sensory to the visible.
It's an INNERREVOLUTION...
Talkin about a revoluuuutiioon... We’eell you know!! ( think the Beatles!)
Women with that natural sexual spark are radiant through and through.
Women have been told a great lie.
That your sexuality and sensuality comes from the outside. That it is based on your looks, your age, your weight, your shape, and by who says you are "attractive"
Wholeness is yours to be experienced when you indulge in all of life with awareness. Even those sexy, naughty, juicy parts of you that we would rather pretend weren’t there.
What you reject in yourself is usually what you most need to befriend.
"Why not fall in love with the body
you have been sleeping with all your life?"
~ Stewart Emergy
Your task this week is to connect to your sensuality.
A great place to start is by connecting to your senses. Sight, Sound, Smell, Touch and Taste.
Start with full awareness of breathing in your body.
Be completely present with your body as you breathe. Place your hands on your chest and belly, and do so with reverence…. with appreciation for your body. For the gift of being alive in this body.
Feel your chest rise first, then your belly rise (at the end of the inhale) Then let your belly fall and then chest fall (at end of exhale) Allow the breath to bring you into your body. Into the present here and now. Become the breath that is breathing you.
Now explore your senses. You can do this with your eyes closed to accentuate the other senses. Explore items in your home and also in nature.
Some ideas: types of music, movement (feeling the music move you), playing with putty, hair brushing, sleep naked or in silk pj’s, smell flowers with eyes closed, explore all the beauty of nature with your eyes as if seeing it for the first time, marvel at the sunrise or sunset. Watch a flame, lay in the grass, savour a piece of food (take 5 minutes to eat a grape), notice how different essential oils make you feel, get a massage, give yourself a massage (hips, belly, breasts), tickle yourself with a feather, self pleasure.
Being Sensual grounds you in your body. Notice how you feel through out the day when you tap into your sensuality. Commit to minimum of 5 minutes a day. Notice what thoughts/feelings come up. Release.
We have already done much in the past few weeks to create the freedom within to just be... be with ourselves fully. Extending the grace towards ourselves that we so generously offer others.
Releasing the fear, guilt and shame that keeps us stuck and unable to flow.
I named my business Personal Evolution, which originally was Flow Evolution because when we are in flow we are not caught in the resistance of what is showing up, we tap into the fountain of youth. We are fluid, dynamic, and creative. It is through the lens of curiosity and wonderment we are a conduit for alchemy. We are embodied vibrancy, unleashed creativity and juiciness…otherwise known as SEXY!
IN OUR OWN PERSONAL JOURNEY WE CAN EVOLVE BY:
1) ENGAGING AWARENESS —step outside the trigger/story/drama. Breathe- feel sensation in the body.
2) ADJUST/ADAPT - Release thoughts/emotions that keep you trapped in wanting/not having.
3) TAKE NEW ACTION - Align your actions with how you would think, feel, sleep, eat, move if you were already in the having.
Flow is the rhythm of life...
Evolution is about witnessing and experiencing our lives from a perspective of continuous awareness. As we journey through life, every circumstance, event, relationship obstacle and opportunity is an invitation to experience the fullness of who we are, why we are here, what choice to make and how those choices impact our life either in stagnation and blockages, or empowerment and flow.
In recognizing our own journey in life as a continuous process we can then choose to connect our everyday experiences with our purpose in life. When we approach every moment from awareness that each decision either takes us towards our intention or goal or away from it, we can make responsible and empowered choices that add to our life force energy. When we accept that we have created our circumstances in life, we flow with the process of the journey.
Our lives always reflect our choices. When we can accept our journey as an evolution we are in flow. We can always express our preferences but our choices are what produce results along with our ability to surrender to that which is beyond choice. Ultimately we can choose how we respond to what shows up in our life that is beyond our control. We can choose to embrace it, be grateful for the insight or see opportunity to grow. When we flow in harmony with the natural energies around us, we tap into the life force energy that is one in everything.
By embracing the circumstances of life as an opportunity to meet every moment with a fresh mindset we release expectations of what we are supposed to be. Your life is a direct reflection of how you view life and judge yourself and those around you. We must let go of our emotional attachment to how things have been, how they are, and a “why me” attitude. We are all given the gift of reason and understanding to create morals and values that guide our intentions into action. Our intentions can either be birthed from fear or from love. Our innate purpose is to have flow with the natural rhythms of life and to interact within the evolution of our physical bodies.
Add a splash of childlike wonder and awe and we can achieve the life we imagined.
What does it mean to be curious?
How can you substitute more curiosity and less judgement?
How can you experience more wonderment and less shame or guilt.
Can you choose to extend grace towards yourself right now, moving forward? no... matter... what..
Let's try it on. You can always go back. Wink, wink…
Sexy is exploring my inner self.
Erase the line that says. I am insignificant.
