Week 6 - Physical Body

Hi Bellas!

So here we are in week 6 of 9 weeks to sexy.

I purposely do not share about the physical body and appearance until week 6 and 7, because we tend to put the most focus on it as our value and worth, rather than the physical as an expression of all the other aspects we have already talked about. In my opinion physical body alone is not in the top 5 of what creates our sexy.  It is rather the vessel of embodied sexy and HOW we want to express it. (for example – our style, our signature “thang”, accentuate features, and exude confidence by through our “presence and posture”.

Your physicality is a visible embodiment of what is occurring in your inner world.

The quality of that expression can be a direct result of how you think, feel, move, eat, and believe. Your underlying beliefs about your body is reflected in how you relate to it and express yourself through it.

From the perspective of your body, all of the ways you think and relate to it are equal, and it will express itself in alignment with those beliefs and actions.

The physical body takes the brunt of the SHAME that you feel about yourself.

Your body is the manifest of what you THINK and the ACTIONS that you live out.

Often appearance becomes the hyper focus of our beauty and sexiness, which we will get into next week. Appearance is the way you express your body

You get to CHOOSE to think in a way that liberates or imprisons you.  Your body is limitless, and it looks to you for direction.

It is time to take empowered action in feeling ALIVE and SEXY in your body!

I mentioned in the last few weeks about the importance of laying a solid foundation for creating the body (and life) that you want.  The 9 weeks to sexy program is where we dis- cover the often hidden (often unconscious)beliefs we have about ourselves, our bodies and our relating with others and situations.

Therefore I purposely am NOT giving you "physical exercises and nutritional advice" in this THIS program (that's why I created the Body Freedom Community) because without a solid foundation the cracks that we are uncovering will sabotage your results or the ability to maintain results. Plus you would be engaging with exercise and diet from the perspective of the broken mirror, from a place of lack…from wanting instead of having and potentially from the place of freedom from instead of freedom to…

In the Body Freedom Community  I give effective nutrition and movement practices that will allow you to engage your body in a way that will align with your new way of being, along with a plethora of other education/tools and practices to support your journey.  Some of you are already in the program and are experiencing the many aspects of supporting “wholebody” wellness. Those of you who are not will get to experience 1 month to see for yourself. :)

Your body will reflect the vivacious, energetic, confident YOU that you are, and Body Freedom is where I get to shine.  As a fitness trainer and health coach for over 25 years.  I personally have tried it all.  Each of us has our own blueprint to getting the body we want.  There is no one size fits all exercise program or diet.

This has been the source of so much pain for many women.

Diet and deprivation

Over exercising.

Lose weight/gain it back and more… rinse and repeat.

Or the“tricks” that used to work to lose that extra 5-10 pounds don’t work anymore PLUS added aches/pains/brain fog and burnout. (that’s where the deeper work comes in)

Ya... I lived the pain for far too long.   Being driven by the fight against my body.  Obsessing, living in the never satisfying land of perfection, anorexia, binging,  and shaming myself for looking ugly, looking good, looking to masculine, too sexy or rather "sleazy!"

Now there's an interesting belief.  No wonder I struggled with the desire to be sexy when

A revelation that was permitting me from every truly feeling sexy.  ...Because let's face it.  Sleazy is not sexy!

So this belief brought me to the opportunity to use a cutting of the cord exercise:

Just because I was told sexy means sleazy, it doesn't mean that I can't change my belief and experience to be "Sexy means being Free in Myself"

I was oscillating between not being enough and being too much for my insecurities to handle.

No more.

I now eat what I want (and I want healthy food) but that includes butter, bacon and chocolate.  I work out for 20 minutes 3x a week. (plus an active lifestyle of hiking, swimming, biking, snowboarding)  And I feel the best in my body than ever in my life.  I have energy, I sleep well, and most importantly I enjoy the experience that this body affords me in life.

In the months to come I will be creating the Body Temple Blueprint Program, which is an opportunity to dive into aspects of your wellness that are the roots of your health such as  digestion, microbiome, blood sugar, adrenals hormones and thyroid.  Plus exploring the underlying metabolic mayhem that may be in the way of getting the results you seek, that stem from these root issues and healing from the root cause rather than symptom management, diet/deprivation/ and rigid protocols.   And as a 9 weeks to sexy goddess you will have an opportunity to access effective lifestyle choices and specific body system protocols that I use with my 1-on-1 comprehensive health coaching clients.

Knowing that your blueprint is unique, I will show you how to create a strong, resilient temple that reflects your essence and vital energy.  But I’ll share more when the time comes.

Last week we dove into the spiritual body and explored the breath and our senses as a way of connecting to the wonderment of life. This week explore the sensations of your body in response to your senses.

Also I’d like you to engage with the FLOW mediation 3x this week (you can find this in the bonuses of your membersite) and then journal about your experience after each experience and then again at the end of the week. Note: the Flow Meditation includes 3 tracks, please do track 3 (about 30 minutes)

Then explore these three prompts.

1)    Something new that I appreciate about my body is…

2)    What I notice I am no longer focusing on is…

3)    A pattern interrupt I could use when I get stuck in body jail is…   (ie: when I notice I am upset about a symptom or how my body looks, I will touch that body part and thank it for communicating with me)

This week I would also like you to explore how it feels to MOVE your body in different ways. Exercising with equipment, hiking out in nature, biking outside, Dancing, running…whatever wants to MOVE you… and notice how you feel. What feeling comes alive in you with different movements?

How about food. How do you feel in your body after eating different foods. Notice your body may feel different than how you think it should (ie: eating organic boxed food, but feel bloated after, or eating raw vs cooked broccoli)

Your body carries wisdom deep within each cell… and each cell carries a universe to tap into.

When we align with our bodies from a perspective of wholeness, we are liberated to experience ultimate health, vitality and juiciness...

We are FULL of life, exploding with wonderment and curiosity... which IS J-U-I-C-Y!!

If you value a holistic approach to wellness you will find true beauty, the kind that grows from the inside out.

SEXY is being confident in my body.

Erase the line that says: I am insecure.

Below is the dance video as mentioned in the video above. Join me in exploring your body through dance! Pick a song and explore moving your body. Try this 2-3x a week and you’ll be amazed at the shifts in your body awareness, posture, and what exudes!

Here is the zoom recording for this week. Note: The book ‘Messages from the Body’ is by Michael Lincoln.

Enjoy!
